The 76ers have added Quin Snyder, a former head coach at Missouri and a four-year player at Duke to their coaching staff in a developmental role.

The hiring was confirmed by Sixers president/general manager Ed Stefanski and coach Doug Collins. The report first appeared on nba.com.

''He's great on the floor (working) with players,'' Collins said.

Snyder, 43, has been an assistant at Duke and with the Los Angeles Clippers, and has coached in the NBA Development League.
