Sixers go small, to start Young

Apparently, the Phillies aren't the only team in town working on small ball.

Expecting a "small ball kind of game," Sixers coach Doug Collins will shuffle his starting lineup for tonight's game at Orlando.

Thaddeus Young will start in place of Nik Vucevic with Elton Brand in the frontcourt, Collins said. Spencer Hawes will be the first big man off the bench. Collins said he is looking to match up better against the Magic's Ryan Anderson, who has hurt the Sixers this season.

Young said starting was "nothing new" to him and seemed unfazed by the move.

The Sixers will go small to combat the Magic, which is battling injuries in the frontcourt.

Already dealing with injuries to Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu, the Magic lost Glen Davis to a right knee injury Sunday in the first quarter of a win over Cleveland that clinched a playoff spot for Orlando. Davis suffered a sprained knee and was to be evaluated today.

Howard will rest for 10 days and then have his injured lower back evaluated. Howard, who has a herniated disk, has missed the last four games.
