Sixers coaching search at an end?

According to Yahoo Sports, the Sixers have made an offer to San Antonio assistant Brett Brown to be their head coach.

The Daily News is looking into a report from Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski that the Sixers have offered their head-coaching job to veteran San Antonio Spurs assistant Brett Brown.

Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers have made the offer and that they and Brown are working on the terms of the contract, including financial compensation and the length of the deal.

The Daily News, so far, has not been able to verify the report.

The Sixers have been without a coach since Doug Collins stepped down from the post in April. Among the other candidates has been Sixers assistant Michael Curry, who ran the team in Orlando in Summer League play.

They are the only team in the NBA without a head coach.
