Singletary To Sixers
Two sources have confirmed that Sean Singletary, a star guard from Virginia who attended Penn Charter, Haverford School and Perkiomen School, will be in training camp with the 76ers.
The information first surfaced on CavalierDaily.com. The website said Singletary has ''a conditional contract'' with the team.
The 6-foot Singletary, 24, appeared in 13 games last season with the Phoenix Suns and 24 games with the Charlotte Bobcats. He was a second-round draft choice of the Sacramento Kings in 2008.
He joins Bryant Stith and Ralph Sampson as the only Cavaliers to be named All-Atlantic Coast Conference three times; his No. 44 jersey was retired in a ceremony Feb. 15.
The Sixers will open training camp Sept. 29 at Saint Joseph's University.
I agree with jemkidd and jefuuetsukusura. I'm going to remember all of you by either the end of the year or the end of the season and I don't want any of you hopping on the bandwagon. You guys suck as fans and don't even deserve a basketball team. If you feel so strongly don't post on here. 45 wins or more, quote me! deasytrent
Willie Green at shooting guard?? Get real! Sasha Pavlovich was availble. It is going to be tough watching this team this year. adsudler
50 wins, write it down so you remember it, and go ahead and put your figure down too! This team adds Brand and loses Miller and you think they will be worse? The young players, Iguodala, Young and Williams are all improving and Andre will be an all-star this season. The team will be faster since Miller was the old man who slowed them down. On defense they will be quicker as well. Jordan's offensive scheme should compliment the Sixers talent nicely. When they play other good teams that force a half-court game, you will see how much a healthy active Brand makes. Ed Stefanski is doing the best he can while being restrained by the salary cap. Nothing the Sixers did could have given them more talent than Cleveland, Orlando or Boston all well over the cap. Next season they will drop some contracts and be able to decide what they need to get better. Everyone here is so pessimistic about a team that would have been in 4th place if not for an injury. All you people do is whine and complain without even looking at circumstances. Figures, none of you can hold a real job! ricky
The dominoes on the way to the lottery: 1. Stefanski signing. 2. Eddie Jordan signing. Never a winner in the NBA. Won't be here. 3. Elton Brand. Injury prone. Will find a way to a clinic before the season is over. Didn't show all that much when he played. 4. Jrue Holliday dropped down to the sixers because the others teams smelled flop. Showed nothing in rookie games. 5. Let their point guard go for nothing. 6. Resigned stiff carney. Figures. Don't they remember him the first time around? 7. Added stiffs like Brezek,Kapono,Ivey. Traded rebounder Evans for no defense-slow kapona. What? 8. Dalembert plays erratically year after year. They use him as trade bait to the instructional league. 9. Mareese Speights looked awful during rookie games. 10. Resigned Randy Ayers as a bench coach. Probably the worst coach since Roy Rubin. It all starts at the top: Snyder. He's dragged this team down with his no spend philosophy. Throwback
its the phillies , and eagles town forget the sixes and flyers frazier- Why don't you guys give Ed a chance to remake this team the way he sees fit? Billy King's versions sucked. The Iverson years were a waste of time. Ed is trying to build a team that has a legitimate chance to contend. He is a local guy who really cares about the Sixers, get off his back.
syddan26,, at this point being in the lottery would be a blessing for the sixers,,,, beats being in the middle of the pack forever. Maybe they could luck into a certified STAR. phillyroni
Maybe they can have the entire roster be all UFA they get from the street bsaw
