Singletary To Sixers
Two sources have confirmed that Sean Singletary, a star guard from Virginia who attended Penn Charter, Haverford School and Perkiomen School, will be in training camp with the 76ers.
The information first surfaced on CavalierDaily.com. The website said Singletary has ''a conditional contract'' with the team.
The 6-foot Singletary, 24, appeared in 13 games last season with the Phoenix Suns and 24 games with the Charlotte Bobcats. He was a second-round draft choice of the Sacramento Kings in 2008.
He joins Bryant Stith and Ralph Sampson as the only Cavaliers to be named All-Atlantic Coast Conference three times; his No. 44 jersey was retired in a ceremony Feb. 15.
The Sixers will open training camp Sept. 29 at Saint Joseph's University.
jaydes: you're an idiot. The kid plays with a lot of heart and has a high basketball IQ. He can do at least as good a job in 10-15 mins a game as Kevin Ollie or some other retread would. ForWhoForWhat?
You can tell how much people care about the Sixers based on the fact that Andre Miller is still pictured in the "Sixerville" banner. He hasn't been on the team for months!! cadilacjack
I agree the Sixers should have signed Ramon Sessions. Ed S. could have made up for a bad offseason. He's young and he can shoot and score, as well as play the point. 76er

none of you know anything. no way you can play sessions and lou together. singleterrys a winner and hes tough. he will push our guards in camp and compete for a spot. theres no downside. everyone in this city just hates on the sixers give them a chance. we finally have a real coach with a healthy team. what we lack in talent we make up for in competitiveness athleticism and toughness. were not a contender but were not so bad and were fun to watch. theres no one on this current roster that i have a problem with. think what you want but just dont jump on the bandwagon when were good jemkidd
What is the plan and strategy for the team? This is ho hum news. psuwelsh
The Sixers signed Mike Singletary?! Allright, I hope he drops his pants again to get the team motivat...wait, Sean Singletary? Oh...oh I see...nevermind then. Fozzie27
i say keep iggy..least he play with some heart..and get rid of the rest. but better said than done..all of those contracts extensions and that brand signing (i simply could not believe they signed him for 80 mil and he damaged goods and he failed the physical before he signed the contract..smh)was ridiculous..still shocked bout it. they saying brand is working as hard as he ever worked in the offseason to show that hes not a bust..sorry brand nice effort but if ya body weak...ya body weak cant do nothing bout injuries in sports. should have done that when u was younger and in ya prime. bigjay215
jemkidd, like what you said about this team and the coach in the up coming season. Lot of negativity, but they're the only ones posting. The team has finally dumped everything A.I. Now they just have to consistently compete well against teams like NJ, eh? straightshooter
I like this kid alot. I think he could really help out the back court. 48506436
What an exciting offseason! Carney, Ivey, Singletary. That big Euro dude. What a group of nothings. Shenkman3

"sixers fans" = saying the same comments over and over again. Obviously if a team is adding a 14th person to their roster it`s not going to be a super star. I can`t believe how stupid most of you are. Actually, I`m starting to believe it. jefuuetsukusura- jefuuetsukusura go back to Ringling Brothers you clown......The roster looks a mess, but games aren't played on paper. As long as they play D, they should win more than half their games. Its those tough games were they will need to score that will be the problem.
