Young out with broken thumb
Thaddeus Young will miss tomorrow night's game against New Jersey with a broken right thumb. No timetable has been set for his return, the Sixers said.
Young cracked the nail on his right thumb in the first quarter last night against New York, but returned and started the second half. He reopened the wound early in the third quarter, leaving a trail of blood which caused about a 5-minute delay. He returned again in the fourth quarter with the thumb heavily bandaged.
Marreese Speights also will miss the game against New Jersey with a right knee sprain. Speights hurt the knee on March 7 in Toronto and has missed the five games since. He was lifting weights before last night's game but is still experiencing soreness in the knee.
Lou Williams is listed as a game-time decision with low back pain. He did not play last night against the Knicks.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed former Friends Central star guard Mustafa Shakur to a 10-day contract.
Shakur, 25, has been playing for the Phillips 66ers in the NBA Development Leaguer, where was averaging 20.7 points and 7.2 assists.
The 6-3 Shakur, who grew up in Wynnewood, has played professionally in Poland, Spain and Greece.

Oh!....Is it basketball season already?? TBear
Yes! With Young, Speights, and Williams out, Sixers could lose to the Nets! Yes! Lottery here we come (although, admittedly, this years draft crop reeks). chuckw
Wait...whats that sound? Its more ping pong balls, of course. Yesterday's postgame was actually more entertaining than the game, watching martelli and marshall trying to analyze the game without calling jordan names. Even michael "homer" barkann was bashing the sixers. duder
Here we go - that time of year every injury turns to a major one. (broken nail = broken thumb?) The character and lack of any drive & leadership for this team has been the story. Jordan definitely has to go, but many, many problems will remain. AllDawk_AllTheTime
AllDawk, you're right on the money. Jordan does have to go, but the problems with this team go much deeper. Even though Ratliff may have been done as a player last year, his criticisms of the team were spot on. Jasner thinks a new coach with fresh ideas should be brought in; frankly the fresh ideas should come from new management. 76erfn
Ed, Edd and Eddie all need to go. To quote the great Foghorn Leghorn in describing Eddie Jordan..."That boy's as sharp as a bowling ball". Hoc-a-mania
You need to stop writing about the 76ers. They have no mental toughness and no spine. They play like sissies. It all starts with the coach who never gets at the refs the way Larry Brown did and does. They have become so weak that opponents don't even need kryptonite. Who is the team leader anyway? mthamess
