Scout disses Sixers in Sports Illustrated

Rare to open Sports Illustrated and see something on the Sixers, but it's there this week. On the "Inside the NBA" page, Chris Mannix has a small item in which he quotes an unnamed Western Conference scout talking about the Sixers. Here it is:
"They are having dunk contests before games; they are running plays sloppily or not all the way through; and they aren't listening to (coach) Eddie Jordan. They have quit. They know Eddie is gone (after the season) and they think they don't have to listen anymore. The thing is, they are making themselves look like a-------. These guys think that just because Eddie is gone they will be back (next year). But nobody wants guys who give up when things go bad. Eddie's offense was a bad fit for this roster - they have to find a way to play more up-tempo - but these guys are embarrassing themselves. And everyone around the league knows it."
There you have it. Thoughts?
Nobody in this town cares about the Sixers including the Sixers themselves! Ship them all out and start over with a real GM and a real coach! JBinPA- So what? Sixers fans are dissing the Sixers. Philly media disses the Sixers. The sixers diss themselves . . .And I am a Sixers fan who wants to see them turn around saying this. GodivaMD
Hopefully this mean Iguodala won't be around next year either and we can start to build a real team again. CBent1
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........The best thing about the Sixers: next year Sam Dalembert's name officially changes to Expiring Contract. mikechris- Hope JBP is right about Collins. I watched every game under Fred Carter, that's how much I loved the 76ers. But I think Iverson's first game back was the only one I made a point to watch this season. Clean house...again. rob72
All they have to do is resign AI, he will put butts in the seats and save the franchise ... wait, they tried that and it failed miserably, even though so many people defended the move here and said they would pay to see AI play ... they lied. Bring Pat Croce back and see what a man with a real plan can do for this team. AsValidAsYours
Thad Young and Jrue Holiday are the only keepers on this team. Speights and/or Williams can be combined with Iguodala and/or Brand to entice a team to take their bad contracts. When Dalembert, Green and Kapono come off the books next year we can add free agents to add experience to a young core. Rick Wise Guy
There still playin??????? jamurf
I agree that Iggy seems like an Abreu-type player. I bet once he's gone, Thad will flourish, hopefully the way Howard and Utley did once Abreu was gone. Leegles
the truth hurts! The only players I would keep are Holliday, Brand & Dalembert. The rest are dogs and/or stink and/or overrated! Stefanski should go too. (Jordan gone is a given) Super5
the NBA is a joke. spittooncj
The Sixers absolutely do look like they are going through the motions now that they are eliminated and believe Jordan will be gone. But the rest of the context is that they looked pretty bad even at the start of the year, the team is among the most hated by the fans in modern Philadelphia history and they hear it (the horrible early '70s teams were pitied but not hated), and Jordan, besides being a terrible coach, babbles meaningless nonsense every time he steps up to a microphone so one can only imagine what he says in practice. In spite of all that, SamD was supposed to be one of the low character guys on the team and he has actually made himself look better in the last 2/3 of this season. izimbra
Everyone named Ed or Eddie needs to be removed from decisions from this team. Get rid of the three-Edd monster. 76er- actually, they will be back..that's the way the NBA is set up. Players know that it's dang near impossible to trade them especially when you got ridiculous contracts like the Sixers have...
