Report: Sixers in talks about Iguodala trade
The 76ers are involved in talks that could send Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets as part of a four-team blockbuster trade, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The website reports that sources say the deal would send Orlando’s Dwight Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington to the Lakers, Lakers center Andrew Bynum to the Sixers, and Lakers forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Affalo going to Orlando.
Talks have grown serious “over the course of the week,” according to the report, but a deal is not considered imminent. Yahoo! also said there are moving parts to the deal to be resolved.
Yahoo! said the Magic would have a better chance of moving Gasol in another deal and eliminate the risk of Bynum leaving as a free agent in 2013. In one of the scenarios, either Gasol or Bynum would come to the Sixers.
Where is the dotted line... Where do I sign ... Mberky
BobbyV- considering where our draft picks have been and what they would be if we got bynum and he stayed healthy i'm more than willing to give up as many role playing bench warming draft picks as it takes to see what this team will be like with a legit center...even if it's for one year. it's not like we haven't spent our entire offseason acquiring pieces that could be packaged to get our #1s back if everything fell apart. 76ers in 2076
I'd do it in a NY minute... what have you got to lose? HAROLD Eskin
Bynum is a punk and a cancer to any locker room. anybody foolish enough in the sixers front office to trade the high character, defensive OLYMPIAN Iguodala for a 7-foot allen iverson should be fired immediately. astroqueen0- I vote for the 7-foot Allen Iverson
The Pink Floyd - this league is full of babies and premadonnas. in fact three of them just won a title and the one we're trying to get has two. if you want character you're following the wrong sport. lack of character is why this league has been so tough to watch. if you want to be more than a 6-8 seed bounced every year after 6 games...you do this deal and don't think twice.
76ers in 2076 - Need more details, the info in this article is limited and frankly makes no sense. It has LA giving up both Gasol & Bynum and only getting Howard & Harrington, that makes no sense.
I've advocated an Iggy for Gasol trade so I'm all for this. Bynum is younger but Gasol fits DC system, I'd take either but I'm not buying this trade as written because it makes no sense for the Lakers. mtairy1
Iggy's my FAVORITE SIXER, but enable to acquire "Drew", I HOPE it gets done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As we currently are, we are no way near in contention of winning a championship, Bynum INSTANTLY makes us contenders! Anguilla Al
There would be more meat to this if Cooney himself posted it. phils_tnj1- Yeah, who needs an All-Star big that averages 19 and 12 when you can have 9 wing players?? Easiest sign and trade ever for the Sixers
- no snse for the lakers? Did you miss the part about getting Howard?
Holliday, Turner, Thad, Hawes and Bynam as starting 5? Do this trade before anyone changes their minds. Bobby V- @owatagoofiam, did you read the part about giving up both Gasol & Bynum?
Orlando was willing to accept Bynum alone so why would they give up both of them? I get Bynum will not sign an extension but according to this Orlando's willing to accept the older Gasol. So essentially the Lakers are trading an all-star level, young, double-double big for Al Harrington. Like I said makes no sense for the Lakers. mtairy1
Do it! Get 'er done! Iguodala may be a high-character guy, an Olympian and an all-star, but after all these years does he put fans in the seats? Give me the low-character other A.I. any day. mariemilo- Yeah right. This is bullsh#t. Corey301
