The drama around Larry Brown continues.
The 71-year-old former Sixers coach is expected to inform SMU over the next few days whether he wants to coach the team, ESPN.com reported.
Brown, who has been out of coaching since December 2010 with the Charlotte Bobcats, interviewed Sunday for the job. He has not been a college coach since leading Kansas to the NCAA title in 1986.
According to the report, SMU has pursued a "coach-in-waiting," who would take over the program whne Brown retires. Among the names being rumored are UNC-Wilmington coach Buzz Peterson, Illinois assistant Jerence Howard and Marquette assistant Tony Benford, who is considered the other finalist for the job.
