Plaisted Taking A Shot With The 76ers

Trent Plaisted, a free agent big man from Brigham Young, has agreed to come to training camp with the 76ers.

Trent Plaisted, who averaged 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds as a junior at Brigham Young in 2007-08, has agreed to come to training camp with the 76ers.

The 6-11 Plaisted was a second-round draft choice of Seattle (now Oklahoma City) in '08, and was traded to Detroit. He has played in Italy, ever so briefly, and later in Croatia.

He played with the Sixers' entry in the Orlando summer league, and then with Chicago in the Las Vegas summer league.

The Sixers, who have 14 players under contract, will open camp Sept. 28 at Saint Joseph's University.
