Phillies' starting 5 as Sixers

POSTED: Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 4:26 PM

Great photo today from the Phillies' clubhouse.

The Sixers had the jerseys made up and arranged for them to be sent to the Phillies.

The idea for the gifts came from Sixers PR director Michael Preston.

Preston said the Sixers thought it would a "nice gesture" because of a ticket offer between the two teams for today's Phillies game and tonight's Sixers game.

He said the Sixers wanted "to have our rotation wish the Phillies rotation best of luck this year. We thought it would be fun to outfit their starting five in Sixers jerseys."

ok, thought this was gonna be a theoretical 'what if the Phils starting rotation were a b-ball starting rotation?' column...

on a side note, Matisyahu is playing tonite after the 76ers game. saw him at Coachella years ago, he puts on a good show...

Excellent to see the city sport teams support each other. I am excited to watch this pitching staff go to work in 2011. This team will win more games than last year and surprise a lot of people with their offensive production this season. The players have a little chip on their shoulders about not being able to manufacturer enough runs to help the winning cause, and take some pressure of the arms of the five starters and bullpen. A little extra incentive and motivation is a GOOD thing for competition. Let's play some ball!!!

This is what helped bring back Cliff Lee. Each team supporting the other.

The Eagles sent nothing to the Phillies as the Eagles are jealous.

The Iggles would never do anything to recognize another team in this city. They snub their noses at them, because they are 'superior' to everything in the city, including teams, fans, the press. Interesting thinking since every other team has won at least 1 championship in the last 50 years. Joe 'The Weasel' probably thought of doing a uniforms thing, but then wondered who would flip the bill. Not him!!
