More on Nocioni's injury

As we told you in today's Daily News, Andres Nocioni has been told to withdraw from the World Championships after the Sixers reviewed his latest MRI report on his injured left ankle.

Sixers president Rod Thorn said that the team did not know whether Nocioni would be ready for training camp.

The team released an injury update this morning, saying that Nocioni should "stop all basketball and impact activity until the team opens training camp at the end of September, at which time he will be re-evaluated."

Upon Nocioni's return to Philadelphia, another MRI will be taken, the team said.
