As we told you in today's Daily News, the Sixers have not contacted Charlotte for permission to speak to Larry Brown about their coaching vacancy.
Sixers chairman Ed Snider has said that the team has no interest in Brown as team president or in any role other than coach, if the Sixers have any interest at all.
As for Brown, he has returned to his suburban Philadelphia home. In an interview with AOL Fanhouse, Brown said he has had no contact with the Sixers, or any other team but the Bobcats, for that matter. Brown also has been linked to the Los Angeles Clippers, another of his former teams.
"I haven't talked to anybody," Brown told Fanhouse. "The only person I talked to is (Bobcats owner) Michael (Jordan). I basically told him what I told you. I love my job. I love working for him. But I'm just having a real difficult time being away from my family. ... I'm going to sit down with (his wife) Shelly, to talk to her and my family."
