Iverson to miss next two games

Allen Iverson will miss the Sixers' last two games before the All-Star break -- tonight at home against Minnesota and tomorrow in Toronto -- as he continues to deal with an illness being suffered by one of his daughters.

He will return to the Sixers' lineup against Miami next Tuesday at the Wachovia Center. He has missed the last three games -- all Sixers wins.

What that means for Sunday's All-Star Game in Dallas remains unclear. Iverson was voted an Eastern Conference starter by the fans.

This will be Iverson's 11th straight All-Star appearance, and the first by a Sixer since 2006.

"Our understanding is, he will still be an All-Star,'' league spokesperson Tim Frank wrote the Daily News in an email.

The Sixers go for their first five-game winning streak of the season tonight against the Timberwolves. Lou Williams will play after missing yesterday's practice with a sinus infection. Rodney Carney will not play with a head cold.
