Iverson heading toward All-Star start
Sixers guard Allen Iverson remains in position to start for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star Game, according to the latest voting announced today.
Iverson is second behind Miami's Dwyane Wade among East guards. Iverson has 930,713 votes. Wade has 1,719,359 votes. Orlando's Vince Carter is third with 745,581.
Iverson appears among Western Conference guards on the paper ballot because he began the season with Memphis, but his votes count toward the Eastern Conference guards due to his signing with the Sixers.
The All-Star starters will be announced Jan. 21, and the reserves on Jan. 28. The game is in Dallas on Feb. 14.
Kobe Bryant is the overall leader with 1,793,782 votes, while LeBron James is second overall with 1,769,287.

the all star team is a popularity contest obviously. i would love to see ai make it tho just so someone is reppin philly GetMeToThePlateBoys
Seriously, how are fans this irresponsible, all voting for A.I. does is reward an undeserving player, and take an honor away from a plaer that has earned it. Embarrassing. He isn't one of the 20 best gaurds anymore, let alone the top 4. Rob Neyer sucks
AI i am ok with but it goes to show you that people who vote really dont watch baskeball because how in the hell Tracy Mcgrady has enough votes to start and didnt play in any games this year??? mizzamillions

too funny phillyphil24
you have to realize that the FANS are voting which means it is a popularity contest, just like the MLB (David Wright starting in last years Allstar game) GetMeToThePlateBoys
Another farce is McGrady starting for the West. If I weren't as politically correct as I am, I would put a label on all of this!! But everyone on the level knows what I mean!! FetchDixon
