Hawes and Vucevic out again tonight

The Sixers will be without Spencer Hawes for the sixth straight game tonight when they face the Charlotte Bobcats at the Wells Fargo Center. Hawes is improving but is still sidelined with a left Achilles' strain.
His backup, rookie Nikola Vucevic, will miss his third-straight game with a quad strain. Coach Doug Collins said after the team's shootaround this morning that Vucevic is "still a ways away."
The Sixers will be looking to bounce back after Wednesday's overtime loss to the New Jersey Nets. Minority owner Will Smith is expected to be in the house as the Sixers look to improve on their 8-2 record at home.
If these injuries to Hawes and Vucevic turn into season-long lingering affairs, the team can kiss goodbye any notions of a deep playoff run. Elson is, obviously, stop-gap w/o, remotely, the skills of either Hawes and Vucevic.
Here's hoping for a quick and THOROUGH recovery for both... FishFryFrank
Both of these injuries are a serious concern; if and when they return, they will be out of shape and liable to get re-injured. Sixers will struggle at both ends of the court without a legitimate center. Too bade, especially for Vucevic, who looked quite promising and would have gotten quality minutes with Hawes out. Also, since Hawes will be a free agent after this season, difficult decision for the Sixers whether to re-sign him. chuckw
trade a 1st and a second for chris kaman, 76ers got the extra 2nd round pick in speights trade , use it before atlanta strikes VANIMALS SWEATY GOGGLES- They just need at least one of the two back by Monday. You could pick 5 guys from the parking lot and beat Charlotte
Too many games in too little time. This NBA season is going to be like a 'Survivor' show. Earlier in the season a number of teams the 76'ers played had key injuries as well. Hope Hawes & Vucevic can get bk. soon or resign Barkley out of retirement - I hear the diet is going well ;)! highfive
Rest them and get them healthy for when they play a real NBA team.
I am interested in finally see Bismack play tonight. Could be his breakout game against the (essentially) centerless Sixers.
or he just could be an overhyped bust waiting to happen. Iron Giant
