UPDATED: Andre Iguodala was on ESPN Radio's Scott Van Pelt show this afternoon, talking about the NBA Finals and his attendance at a seminar at Syracuse University for players to learn broadcasting skills.

Of course, though, he was asked his thoughts on the latest trade rumor:

“I really haven’t been paying too much attention to it," he said. "I don’t have control over it . My biggest thing this summer is I am trying to relax, and keep my mind off basketball … My thing is, things happen, let it happen and then react to it. I think it’s too early for me to start worrying about it.”

EARLIER

Sixers president Rod Thorn has been a busy man since the end of the season, saying  he has talked to "over 20 teams" about "a variety of things."

The latest rumor that seems to be heating up has the Sixers dealing forward Andre Iguodala to Golden State for scoring guard Monta Ellis.

"We talk to teams daily about a variety of things," said Thorn this morning. "I've talke to 20 teams, over 20 teams, in the past couple of weeks. We have nothing to say right now about anything. There is nothing imminent."

Both Iguodala and Ellis have three years remaining on their current contracts, with Iguodala scheduled to make a little more than $42 million while Ellis will get about $33 million.

Ellis could provide the scorer the Sixers are searching for, as he averaged 24.1 points last season and 25.5 the season before. The Warriors just announced that they have hired former NBA point guard and television analyst Mark Jackson to be their new head coach.

Also, sources are saying that a sale of the Sixers could be just about complete. We are tracking down this story as it is happening.

Stay tuned for more on both.

This is not a good trade. Ellis is just Lou Williams with more minutes.. I agree with this guy:

Monta and Lou are 2 different players Lou is good but will never be a atarter in this league as Monta is a starter and already a star.

i dont think they see evan turner as a bust nor do i for that matter they see him as a developing talent much like lou was his first couple years. they need a bonified scorer now. not a sometimes scorer...i can see it now ellis, jru holiday, brand, thad young as a starter this year, and a young BIG (see NBA draft) barring injuries i see that lineup driving to atleast the 2nd round next year with DC behind the wheel of course. ellis 20+ a night jru 20+ elton is good for 15 and 10 again and thad can go off for 20 say ur big man goes for 8 points a night thats 80+ from ur starters penciled in.

We need to make the trade. Ellis provides much needed scoring. We will lose the defense that Iggy brings but we have to give Thad and Evan there due time. And bring back Sammy...
