Collins back in Philadelphia to see neurologist

Sixers coach Doug Collins back in Philadelphia to get checked on post concussion symptoms.

Sixers head coach Doug Collins is now back in Philadelphia and had a neurological test today to find out why he is still sufferening from dizziness and headaches after suffering a concussion on Memorial Day.

Associate head coach Mike Curry, who will step in for Collins when the team faces the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in Cincinnati, said he spoke with Collins after the team's morning shootaround following Collins' return to Philadelphia.

Collins probably won't be on the bench tomorrow night when the Sixers host the New York Knicks in the final preseason game.

Collins flew with the team to Cincinnati yesterday and had a meeting this morning with his coaches before deciding to return to Philadelphia. No one in the organization, including president Rod Thorn, knew anything about Collins' dilemma.

Thorn addressed the team before the morning shootaround at U.S. Bank Arena and filled the players in on their coach's condition.
