Sixers forward Andre Iguodala will sit out his second straight game tonight when the team plays the Phoenix Suns with tendonitis in his right Achilles.
Iguodala missed five games earlier in the season with the injury but appeared to be recovered from it before it flared up again recently, forcing him to miss Monday's game in Golden State.
Guard Lou Williams joined the team this morning after witnessing the birth of his first child last night and will be available tonight. Also, swingman Jason Kapono's right calf is healed enough for him to play and he is on the active list for tonight's game. Iguodala and Darius Songaila are deactivated.

Sixers swingman Andre Iguodala did not do much of anything at this morning's Sixers shootaround in preparation for tonight's game against the Phoenix due to recurring tendonitis in his right Achilles.
Officially listed as a game-time decision, Iguodala said that if the game had to be played this morning, that he would not be able to go. It appears that he will be out for the game tonight. Iguodala informed coach Doug Collins about an hour before Monday's game in Golden State that he wouldn't be able to play that night.
Tonight is the sixth of an eight-game road trip for the Sixers, their longest of the season. So far, they have captured wins in Orlando and Denver, while dropping games in Chicago, Boston and Golden State.

Just about an hour before last night's game at Golden State, Sixers swingman Andre Iguodala informed coach Doug Collins that he wasn't going to be able to play.
Collins said Iguodala "had sore legs", then went on to say that Iguodala was sore after the team practiced on Saturday in Denver. He played 40 minutes in the team's win over the Nuggets on Sunday then was getting treated yesterday. But after warming up for a while, Iguodala shut it down.
Iguodala missed five games earlier this season with a strained right Achilles' tendon. It appears that his current injury is probably related to that, as Collins said he was "having trouble pushing off."

When the Sixers fell behind the Denver Nuggets by 12 points early in the fourth quarter Sunday night, it seemed the only question to ponder was how much the final deficit would be.
But the Sixers outscored the Nuggets by 29-18 in the final quarter, went on a 24-4 run after getting behind by 12 and maded 12 of 14 free throws down the stretch after missing 10 of their first 18.
Now there is no time to celebrate as the Sixers will play at Golden State tonight against a Warriors team that is riding the coattails of Monta Ellis, the third leading scorer in the league at 26 a game. He has been even better than that lately as he is averaging 35.8 points and shooting 52.1 percent from the floor over his past five games.

DENVER – This one came out of nowhere, kind of like those big snowstorms that the forecasters just didn’t see coming.
The 76ers had trudged through three quarters against the road-weary Denver Nuggets and trailed by five, scoring a measly 66 points in the first 36 minutes of play.
The sloppy play had been expected as the Sixers had only one practice since Thursday’s loss in Boston and were playing their fourth of eight straight road games, with another awaiting them tonight.

While the weather is snowy in Philadelphia, it's sunny and mid-50's here in Denver, where they haven't had much snow at all so far.
The Sixers are coming off back-to-back losses in Chicago and Boston, but have had a few days off over Christmas. Perhaps the time away from each other will help them. The team met up ysterday in Denver and held a practice last night.
Guard Lou Williams will not play tonight, or tomorrow night at Golden State, as he stayed back in Philadelphia to watch the birth of his daughter.

Sixers reserve guard Lou Williams will miss tonight's game at the Denver Nuggets and tomorrow's game at the Golden State Warriors, the team announced a couple of minutes ago.
Williams remained in Philly to witness the birth of his first child, a daughter, which is expected to take place tomorrow.

While the Denver Nuggets were losing Christmas night in Oklahoma City, the Sixers were in Denver practicing for tonight's game.
The Sixers had reconvened after scattering for Christmas following a loss to Boston on Thursday night.
The Nuggets are likely to be without star forward Carmelo Anthony tonight for the third consecutive game. Anthony has been in his hometown of Baltimore following the death of his sister, Michelle.
