Great photo today from the Phillies' clubhouse.

The Sixers had the jerseys made up and arranged for them to be sent to the Phillies.

The idea for the gifts came from Sixers PR director Michael Preston.

The Sixers didn’t practice today, but sent word that Thaddeus Young received treatment and is a gametime decision tomorrow against the Houston Rockets.

The play in which he was injured happened as Young was chasing down a loose ball and appeared to have his foot slip out from under him, causing a split-like fall between the Sixers bench and halfcourt.

Upon seeing Young go down, Doug Collins turned his back in grimaced in horror. He thought Young may have done some serious damage.

The Sixers have lost their last two games and are on the verge of losing their third straight game for the first time since November 23-26.

Sunday's overtime loss to the Kings was disturbing in many ways, and not because some members of the Sixers attended a concert the night before. There was very little execution at both ends of the floor. When the Sixers finally did get a lead, they couldn't hold it. They again gave up big baskets at the end of the game, something that appeared to be a thing of the past.

What also aided in the loss, and this can't be overlooked, is that Andre Iguodala is really struggling with his right knee tendinitis. At times he appears to be almost dragging the leg with him on the court. It especially showed on the degfensive end when his inability to stop Sacramento's Marcus Thornton on several trips down the floor late in the game.

Friday night’s 76ers-Heat game had all the intangibles of a postseason game – raucous crowd, high-spirited and fast-paced play, in-your-face defense.

For the most part yesterday at the Wells Fargo Center the Sixers and the visiting Sacramento Kings would have had to turn the game’s intensity level up a few notches just to reach preseason level.

Maybe it was the noon start, or the fact that the Kings were playing the last of a five-game road stretch. Or perhaps the fans were looking more forward to the Flyers-Bruins game that was going to follow. Chairman Ed Snider was even sporting his Flyer-orange tie and socks.

When Doug Collins said a few days ago that he was looking to get Andres Nocioni and Tony Battie some more playing time as the season was winding down, I thought he was doing the good guy thing. Both the vets have struggled for playing time, particularly lately, but have been solid teammates even though they've been doing it mostly from the bench.

Collins is a man who cares about a person's feelings, especially when it comes to his players. I thought the Battie Nocioni thing was part of a nice gesture. Instead, it proved that Collins cares more about winning than feelings.

Rookie Evan Turner has seemed to have lost some of his coach's trust and that is not a good thing going into the playoffs. With Nocioni, Collins knows he will get toughness, playoff experience. And in Battie he has a big man who can defend, hit open jumpers and not allow any easy baskets, whether it be by fouling or just good defense.

The Atlanta Hawks come to Philly to play the Sixers tonight, fresh off last night's 30-point loss to the visiting Chicago Bulls. Was that an aberration or is this team close to being in a free-fall. If so, catching them for the fifth-seed, and a probable playoff matchup with the Orlando Magic, seems possible.

The Sixers beat the Hawks on February 8 in Atlanta by 34 points. Since then, the Hawks have gone 7-13.

The fifth-seed would seem to be a much better option for the Sixers, as if they stay in their current spot at No. 6, they would most likely play the Miami Heat. Though they have played the Heat tough this season, that would be a tough series to climb out of. The Magic appear to be a much better matchup for the Sixers.

Andre Iguodala is expected to play tomorrow night against Atlanta at the Wells Fargo Center.

Iguodala, battling right knee tendinitis, practiced today and scrimmage for about 5-6 minutes.

He did not play Saturday night in Portland in order to get some extra rest with four days between games.
