Kenny Wormald & Julianne Hough visit with Philly kids

Film newbie Kenny Wormald and TV 'n' music veteran Julianne Hough are both extremely attractive human beings. And they know how to dance, which makes sense, since they provide the star – and foot-power – to Hustle & Flow helmer Craig Brewer's remarkably reverential-yet-original homage to the Kevin Bacon 1984 cult classic, Footloose, titled appropriately enough, Footloose. It's due Oct. 14.

Kenny and Julianne were in Philly Wednesday night to check out a special fan –and-press screening of the film in Center City. The house erupted when the two stars stood up after the film for a lively Q&A session.

After doing a round of press interviews at the Four Seasons Thursday morning and early afternoon (we had a totally awesome 18-minute sit-down with the pair) , they visited with some of the kids – and Mayor Nutter – at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in University City, which recently launched an interactive multi-media broadcast center called Voice. (It was funded by The Ryan Seacrest Foundation and launched by Ryan and pal Selena Gomez at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 15.)

Kenny taught one boy how to pop-and-lock like a pro. (That's a dance move, not a method of shooting a handgun.) Another patient, a girl, sang sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" for Julianne. The actors told their handlers this was the most fun they've had on their Footloose promo tour. (We like that.)

Footloose features the Boston-born Kenny as Boston lad Ren MacCormack who is shipped off to live in with his uncle Wes (Ray McKinnon) in SmallTownUSA after his mother dies.

Julianne, 23, a two-time Dancing with The Stars winner, plays Ariel Moore, the town's rebellious wild child chick. She's daughter of the town preacher (Dennis Quaid) and girlfriend to borderline psychotic race car driver Chuck (Patrick John Flueger).

It's a tough world: Rev. Moore petitioned town council to outlaw public dancing after his son died in a car crash after a party. But the kids can't help themselves. And our two heroes fall in love after taking part in a series of dance numbers ranging all the way from a sober evening of country line dancing to an exciting, feverish session of krumpin.
