Alec Baldwin, gossip reporter!

Alec Baldwin launching a radio chat show featuring fellow celebs

Suave TV star Alec Baldwin is doing a Perez Hilton: He's launching a new career as a celeb journo.

Beginning Oct. 24, Baldwin will host a new daily podcast, Here's the Thing, on New York Public Radio station WNYC (93.9 FM and 820 AM), which will feature the 30 Rock star chatting with fellow boldfacers, including Michael Douglas, reality TV matriarch Kris Kardashian Jenner, Chris Rock, Kathleen Turner, and veteran celeb chatter and New York Times blogger Dick Cavett.

There'll also be literature (a chat with Erica Jong and her daughter, The Social Climber's Handbook author Molly Jong-Fast, ) and politics (consultant Ed Rollins).

WNYC says the show will take a fresh look at its subjects.

"Alec sidesteps the predictable by taking listeners inside the dressing rooms, apartments, and offices of people such as ... Oscar winner Michael Douglas," an announcement reads.

"Every two weeks, Alec pursues great conversations in unexpected places to find out what motivates his guests, how they feel about what they do and what keeps them up at night. Here's the Thing: Listen to what happens when a man you think you know surprises you."
