Police hunt for suspects in Hunting Park robberies

Suspects wanted in questioning for eight robberies over the last week

Police hunt for suspects in Hunting Park robberies

Police released security photos of two suspects who tried to rob a Germantown Avenue dollar store last Thursday. Police suspect the men may be involved in seven other Hunting Park gunpoint robberies over the last week.

In the security footage from the dollar store, one of the suspects waves a revolver in the storeowner's face. The storeowner fights back, ripping the suspect's hoodie from his face. The men strike the storeowner twice with their guns before fleeing.

The suspects are also wanted for questioning in two robberies of a neighborhood cell phone shop and five street robberies, said CaptainFrank Vanore, commanding officer of the 25th police district.

The street robberies occurred between Sunday night and Monday afternoon in the area around Ninth and Erie.
