Tyler Stampone has been named the new head baseball coach at Germantown Academy.
Stampone is a 2005 GA graduate. He was a second baseman for the Patriots.

Tyler Stampone is expected to be named the new head baseball coach at Germantown Academy, though GA athletic director Jim Fenerty said Tuesday the appointment had not been finalized.
Stampone is a 2005 GA graduate. He was a second baseman for the Patriots.
Kyle George coached GA last season.

Joey Gorman, a senior pitcher and outfielder for Neumann-Goretti, has orally committed to play baseball at St. Joseph's University.
On the mound last spring, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound southpaw went 9-1 with a 1.00 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 54 innings. Doubling as a centerfielder, he hit .484 with 26 runs and 23 RBIs from the No. 2 hole.
Gorman, who helped spark the Saints to a 22-1 record and their second Catholic League championship in three seasons, earned Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors.

West Catholic retained its Catholic League Class AA championship with a 47-8 win over Bishop McDevitt Sunday afternoon at Northeast High's Charlie Martin Memorial Stadium.
Next for West Catholic is a PIAA District 1-12 subregional versus Bok, of the Public League, 12 p.m. Saturday in South Philly (10th and Bigler).

Tim Wade carried 39 times for a single game school record of 300 yards as La Salle downed Father Judge, 26-13, Friday ngiht in a Catholic League Class AAAA semifinal playoff at Northeast's Charlie Martin Memorial Stadium.
Wade, a senior tailback who doubles as an outside linebacker, broked the old school mark of 243 yards set last year by Jamal Abdur-Rahman, now at Villanova, in a regular-season win over St. Joseph's Prep.
