A break in accounting class Tuesday at Archbishop Wood allowed Joe and John Santospago a chance to continue their friendly sibling rivalry. This time, it played out in an impromptu armwrestling match.
"I took him down," John said with a laugh. "He's way stronger than me, but I think my forearm strength was the difference. It's from all the years being a catcher."
Joe's take on losing the contest? "He got lucky," the outfielder said. "I'm confident I can win the next go-round."

Friends' Central senior combination guard Karonn Davis, who averaged 19 points per game last season, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to play at Niagara. He visited the school last weekend.
"I found the people at Niagara to be genuine and kind-hearted," the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder said. "Also, the coaches said I'll have the opportunity to start as a freshman."
Davis, who lives near 46th and Walnut in West Philly, also had a scholarship offer from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Coatesville High junior Daquan Worley, a quick-footed running back and defensive back, orally committed Friday morning to play for Penn State.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder, who helped lead the Red Raiders to the PIAA Class AAAA state championship game last season, is projected to play cornerback for the Nittany Lions. He is the program's seventh commit - and first defensive back - for the Class of 2014.
"Deep down, he just really felt like he wanted to be part of the Penn State community," Coatesville head coach Matt Ortega said. "He liked the campus, the athletic part of it, and the academic piece."
