Football: St. Joe's Prep to open vs. Chicago's Mount Carmel

St. Joseph's Prep will open the 2014 football season against Chicago's Mount Carmel on Aug. 31 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. Kickoff is set for noon.

Mt. Carmel, a two-time state champion, is the alma mater of ex-Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and former NFL defensive end Simeon Rice.

In Week 2, the Prep will host North Jersey power Don Bosco Prep. The Hawks bowed to the Ironmen, 42-0, last season.

In Week 3, Gabe Infante's squad is scheduled to visit St. Ignatius, of Cleveland, Ohio.

Here is the schedule for the Chicago Catholic League’s Preseason Kickoff Classic at Toyota Park, home to the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer (MLS):

St. Joseph's Prep vs. Mount Carmel, noon

St. Ignatius vs. Walter Payton Prep, 3 p.m.

St. Rita vs. Simeon Career Academy, 6 p.m.
