Former Imhotep Charter star Brandon Austin confirmed via text Wednesday that he is transferring from Providence to Oregon. It is expected he will be eligible to play for the Ducks in December of next season.

Providence suspended Austin, a 6-foot-6 wing, and fellow freshman Rodney Bullock indefinitely prior to the start of the season for "not upholding their responsibilities as student-athletes."

The school then suspended both players for the entire season in late December due to a violation of the school's Code of Conduct. While Austin opted to transfer, Bullock, a 6-6 power forward, has decided to remain at Providence.

Last season, while leading Imhotep to a 28-5 record and the PIAA Class AAA state title, Austin averaged 17 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. He was an Inquirer first-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection.

While at Imhotep, Austin first committed to play at Penn State. He  later switched gears and signed with Providence.
