By a unanimous vote Thursday morning, a PIAA District 12 committee granted former Strawberry Mansion player Donovan Barnes immediate eligibility to compete in games for the Math, Civics & Sciences basketball squad.

On Dec. 4, a District 12 committee had dened the petition for Barnes to play for the Mighty Elephants. On Tuesday, in an appeal at the state level, a PIAA committee in Mechanicsburg remanded the case to District 12.

Barnes is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound junior guard. Last season, while playing for Strawberry Mansion, he was a first-team all-Public League Division B selection.
