Austin Tilghman, who starred in football and basketball at St. Andrew's (Del.), is now at Archbishop Carroll.

In football, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior is a running back and defensive end. Last season for St. Andrew's, he carried 237 times for 2,211 yards and 28 scores.

"He uses his size to his advantage," Carroll coach Joe Powel said. "He's not afraid to initiate contact. But he also has good vision, is able to make moves in the open field."

In basketball, Tilghman, a point guard, has scholarship offers from Stony Brook and La Salle. Interest has also come from Canisius and Quinnipiac, among others.
