Football: EA's Butts picks up offer from Boston College

Episcopal Academy's Evan Butts, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound junior tight end and defensive end, picked up a scholarship offer Monday evening from Boston College. He was at the school's one-day camp Sunday.

"Basically, that's how the offer came about," he said. "I guess they were impressed with what they saw."

Butts now has about 15 scholarship offers, with Boston College, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple, South Florida, Army, and Buffalo heading the list.

He is scheduled to visit Duke beginning Thursday (the Blue Devils' one-day camp is Saturday). His next stop is likely Virginia.

While most schools project Butts as a tight end, he also could end up playing defensive end or outside linebacker in college. He may also see time as a long snapper.
