I'm glad that I went to high school in the 80's. The neighborhood rivalry games that took place then and even through the 90's were classics. This AAU version of high school athletics, in Philadelphia specifically, is talented but doesn't create a sense of community pride. Families send their kids to schools outside their neighborhood for better opportunities, which includes athletics. However, if they took the time to invest in making their neighborhoods and the schools in them better, there would be more pride for the community where they live. When Brook played West, Gratz played Mansion, Dobbins played Franklin, or Southern played Bartram those were the days. It's a shame that you don't see any of those schools on this list. I will enjoy watching games this season because I love the game. However, I miss what used to be classic Philly Hoops!
