Football: Pennridge's Class questionable for playoff

Pennridge junior running back Mike Class is questionable for Saturday afternoon's PIAA District 1 Class AAAA playoff against Spring-Ford due to concussion-related symptoms.

Rams coach Randy Cuthbert said the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder, who has rushed for an area-best 2,359 yards and 31 touchdowns, would be evaluated Saturday morning by a specialist.

"We'll see," Cuthbert said Friday night. "If he's in good shape and OK, he'll play. But it's up to the doctor at this point."

Cuthbert said he believes Class first suffered the injury in an opening-round win over Abington. A helmet-to-helmet play in the late going of last week's semifinal triumph over Pennsbury may have worsened his condition.

Class was held out of a Thanksgiving Day win over Quakertown.
