It was a 2-for-2 effort from District 12 boys' teams Friday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center.

First, Constitution, behind 27 points from Savon Goodman and 22 from Daiquan Walker, cruised past District 7's Lincoln Park Charter, 68-49, for the Class A title.

In the nightcap, after the Archbishop Carroll girls earned Class AAAA gold, Neumann-Goretti, down 10 early on, fought past District 7's Montour, 48-45, for its third straight Class AAA crown.

The Saints did not clinch victory until Montour missed a three-point attempt from the left baseline in the closing seconds.

Ja'Quan Newton shot 6 for 11 and 5 for 12 en route to 17 points. Next in line for N-G were 6-foot-4 junior forward John Davis (11 points, eight rebounds) and senior guard Billy Shank (10 points, two treys).

Derrick Stewart, a 6-5 senior forward, collected 11 rebounds and blocked five shots.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, Imhotep Charter and Beaver Falls will battle in Class AA. At 8 p.m., in a rematch of the District 1 final, Lower Merion and defending champ Chester will square off for top Class AAAA honors.
