Neumann-Goretti placed four players in double figures and routed Roman Catholic, 73-56, Wednesday night in a Catholic League boys' basketball semifinal at the Palestra.

Ja'Quan Newton (17 points), La'Quan Coaxum (14), Billy Shank (12 points, four treys), and John Davis (11 points, eight boards, three blocks) paced the Saints.

N-G shot 5 for 11 from three-point land in the first quarter. Overall, the defending Catholic League champs were 10 for 24 from beyond the arc.

Sophomore Shep Garner (20 points) spurred the Cahillites, who will continue in the PIAA Class AAAA state tournament.

For N-G, Rider-bound forward Derrick Stewart grabbed nine boards; lead guard Hanif Sutton dished seven assists and hauled in six boards (four on offense).
