Grocery shopping: 5 college players to watch today who could be Eagles draft targets
As long as you're sitting around watching college football today, here are 5 players to keep an eye on who could be of interest to the Eagles next May.
Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma: (14) Oklahoma at (22) Notre Dame, 3:30pm
Colvin is one of the top-rated CB prospects in the country, and has decent size at 6'0, 192. One of the most entertaining of Colvin's games to watch last season was the Sooners' 50-49 win over West Virginia. In that game, WVU WR Stedman Bailey went off for 13 catches, 205 yards, and 4 TDs. Colvin covered Bailey quite a bit that day, and was responsible for 2 of his TDs. However, he also had an INT, a pass breakup that led to an INT by one of his teammates, and several other pass breakups. He also had 8 tackles. That game is definitely worth a look, as WVU threw Colvin's way repeatedly. Sometimes Colvin won, sometimes he didn't (via DraftBreakdown.com):
The Eagles' need at CB is obvious.
Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss: (21) Ole Miss at (1) Alabama, 6:30pm
Moncrief has good size at 6'3, 226. He had four 100-yard receiving games last year, including a 2-game stretch against LSU and Mississippi State in which he caught 13 passs for 334 yards and 5 TDs. Mississippi State had a pair of corners (Darius Slay and Johnthan Banks) drafted in the 2nd round last year, and Moncrief produced against them. He is also appears to be a good blocker. Alabama will be a great test for Moncrief.

Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas: Arkansas at (10) Texas A&M, 7:00pm
Smith is tied for the NCAA lead in sacks, with 5.5. Arkansas likes to move Smith around, but he'll get his share of matchups against Texas A&M LT Jake Matthews, who is considered by some to be the best OT prospect in the country. Smith can put his hand in the dirt and rush the QB, but Arkansas also stands him up and drops him into coverage, so his future as a 3-4 OLB in the NFL is not a stretch.
Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State: (23) Wisconsin at (4) Ohio State, 8:00pm
Roby is considered by many to be the best CB prospect in the country, and while Wisconsin isn't exactly a great passing team, they have averaged a hair under 350 rushing yards per game and average 8 yars per carry. Roby led the nation in passes defensed in 2012, with 19, so there's little question that he can cover. Today will be a great test of his toughness against the run.
Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State:(5) Stanford at Washington State, 10:00pm
Bucannon has 11 career INTs at Washington State, 3 of which came against Chip Kelly's Oregon Ducks (2 in 2012, 1 in 2011). In addition to having good ball skills, Bucannon has good size (6'1, 215), and likes to hit. The Eagles drafted 3 Pac-10 players last season (Zach Ertz, Matt Barkley, and Jordan Poyer), and Kelly will absolutely be familiar with Bucannon. And again, the Eagles' need for better safeties is rather obvious.
