Eagles kind of a big deal, flexed to Sunday night vs Bears

After winning 5 straight games, the Eagles are suddenly kind of a big deal. According to the Eagles' official website, the Eagles' Sunday game on December 22nd against the Bears is being "flexed" to the Sunday night game on NBC.

The Eagles are 8-5, and atop the NFC East, while the Bears are tied for first place with the Lions in the closely contested NFC North. Obviously, Philadelphia and Chicago are big markets, and NBC should get big ratings, especially if the Eagles continue their winning streak this Sunday in Minnesota.

This will be the 4th time in the last 6 years that the Eagles will have faced the Bears in a night game. The Eagles faced the Bears in prime time in 2008 (loss), 2009 (win) and 2011 (loss). It doesn't seem like it, but this will actually be Nick Foles' 4th start in prime time. Last season, he started against the Panthers on Monday night, the Cowboys on Sunday night, and the Bengals on Thursday night. The Eagles lost all 3 games.

The Eagles have been playing great football lately, and the rest of the country is beginning to notice.
