Wawa goes on a 5,000-person hiring spree

Want a job at Wawa? This may be your chance.

The Delaware County-based company just announced it is going to hire more than 5,000 new associates as part of its spring campaign.  The company is looking to fill both customer-service and management roles at all of its 750 stores across six states.

“As we continue to expand and grow, we’re excited to fill these 5,000-plus positions with people who will quickly become part of the 'Wawa Way,' " said Dave Filano, manager of talent acquisition at Wawa.

At the same time, the locally beloved convenience store chain expects to provide advancement opportunities for its more than 30,000 current employees, said Filano.

From March 29 to April 19, some of the Wawas will hold open houses, called Wawa Career Wednesdays, where applicants can receive a first interview, learn about the company's culture and career opportunities, and find out the role employees play in their stores' communities.
