Authorities are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man who was fatally shot in his West Oak Lane home overnight.
The teenager was shot multiple times in the home on the 6700 block of North 15th Street just after 11:50 p.m. Thursday, police said.
He was in the first floor of the residence and the only person home at the time of the shooting, Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters.
Investigators found shell casings from firearms of two different calibers in the residence, according to Small.
The teen ran out of the house's back door and to a neighbor's in an effort to get away, he said.
The victim was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:28 a.m. Friday, police said. His name wasn't released because relatives were still being notified.
Police had no description of the shooter or shooters. The motive for the killing remained unknown.
