Long lines, lots of food: Social media reacts to Philly’s new Whole Foods

Philadelphia’s newest Whole Foods is now open, and judging by social media, folks are more than a little excited.

The new store, located at 2101 Pennsylvania Avenue, opened just before 9 a.m. Friday following the closure of the old Whole Foods on Callowhill Street on Wednesday.

Billed as the company’s flagship store for the mid-Atlantic region, Whole Foods’ new digs boasts restaurants such as CHeU Noodle Bar, Dizengoff, Wiz Kid, and Severino Cucina Rustica, as well as two alcohol-serving bars, a coffee bar, and a juice bar, among other amenities.

Groceries are also available, along with an expanded selection of non-food offerings.

Philadelphians, it seems, took notice, with social media showing long lines, lots of food, and plenty of curious shoppers. Your average grocery store opening, this was not:
