WIP Wing Bowl 25 recap: Winners, Wingettes and Ric Flair

Bob “Notorious B.O.B.” Shoudt, the 50-year-old favorite coming in, downed 409 wings to win Wing Bowl 25.

“I’m happiest to be the oldest Wing Bowl champion, as well as the first champion from Pennsylvania in 20 years,” Shoudt said.

In a move that shocked both the crowd and WIP host Angelo Cataldi, Wingette Catherine was named the Wingette of the Year.

“I honestly don’t even have words, “ she said following her win. The good news is Catherine already knows how she plans to spend her $5,000 prize.

“I’m going to pay for school,” she said.

Some highlights from Wing Bowl 25:

Reigning Wing Bowl champion Molly Schuyler defeated Bill “El WingadorSimmonds in a special 5-minute eat off.

Wrestling legend Ric Flair, accompanied by his longtime entrance song “Also Sprach Zarathustra,” walked into the Wells Fargo Center to a standing ovation from the sold-out Wells Fargo Center crowd.

“Wow, Philadelphia looking good,” Flair said. “I probably have some children in the audience here.”

Flair, donning a Flyers jersey and holding a replica Lombardi trophy, said Wing Bowl had lived up to everything he was told. He also had a message for fans sober enough to listen.

“Get drunk, eat chicken wings, then take your woman home and do your thing! Woo!” Flair yelled.

Speaking of love, three-time Wing Bowl contestant Charles “EggmanRifici proposed to his girlfriend, Debbie White, after he was ejected from the first round of the wing eating competition.

Josh “Meat Sack” Domico and his Wentz Wagon were named the winning entourage.

Retired Naval Petty Officer, 1st Class, Generald Wilson, knocked the roof off the Wells Fargo Center with an inspired rendition of the National Anthem.
