Neshaminy grad Chelsea Deeter has taken over the reins of her alma mater's girls’ soccer program. The 2006 graduate will replace former head coach, Rachel Clemens, who resigned last February.
Clemens, also a Neshaminy grad, was the head coach for four seasons, where she helped lift the program to new heights. The Redskins captured a Class AAA District 1 championship and state title last year as the team went 25-0. Clemens stepped down to spend more time with her family.
Deeter, a defender at Kutztown, is very familiar with the success Neshaminy had last season, as she was an assistant coach with the program during its historic campaign. Deeter was a four-time all PSAC first team selection with the Golden Bears. She started 43 games and helped her squad earn 37 shutouts.
Last season, the Redskins only allowed seven goals in 25 contests and recorded 19 shutouts. Deeter will have six starters from that team returning for her this season, including two defenders.
