Downingtown West goalie Bobby Rosato is headed to UNC-Wilmington

Bobby Rosato, Pennsylvania’s all-time career shutout leader, is headed to UNC-Wilmington. Rosato, a four-year starter as goalie at Downingtown West, orally committed to continue his soccer career with the Seahawks. UNC-Wilmington finished this past season nationally ranked in all four of the top major polls. As a senior, Rosato was named to the 2009 NSCAA/Adidas boys’ high school all-America team — the only boy from Southeastern Pennsylvania to earn that honor. He helped Downingtown West get back to the PIAA state playoffs. In 2008, Rosato was a member of the Whippets’ state championship squad. — Matt Gelb
