On the day he was nominated for the McDonald's All-American Game, Jeremiah Worthem scored a team-high 21 points on Thursday afternoon as Math, Civics & Sciences rolled over visiting University City, 101-61, in a Public League Division A boys' basketball game.

The senior forward scored nine points in the first quarter and grabbed 10 rebounds. Britton Lee, a senior guard, added 16 points and five assists. He scored seven of his points in the third quarter.

Quadir Welton, who was among the All-American nominees, scored six points. The final roster will be announced on Feb. 14. Math, Civics & Sciences is the only Public League school to have two players on the nominee list.

"The program's come a long way [under coach Dan Jackson]," said athletic director Lonnie Diggs. "It's a tribute to all the hard work he's put into it, especially at such a young age."
