Vaux senior guard Rysheed Jordan confirmed on Twitter on Thursday morning that has committed to St. John’s.

The Inquirer reported on Wednesday that he was leaning that way and earlier Thursday morning that he had selected the Red Storm over Temple and UCLA.

Last season, Jordan led Vaux to the PIAA Class A State title and was named the state’s Class A player of the year by the Associated Press. He was also named Public League’s player of the year and The Inquirer’s Southeastern Pa. Player of the Year.

A 6-foot-3 guard, Jordan’s commitment is a non-binding oral commitment and can not be signed until April 17.

Jordan played his cards close for much of his recruitment before giving subtle hints in the last month. Two days after Steve Lavin watched his PIAA playoff game, Jordan said he would make his decision on April 15. He then moved that date up to April 11 a day after the Red Storm opened up a scholarship.
