Just two days after St. John's head basketball coach Steve Lavin visited his high-school playoff game, Rysheed Jordan announced on Sunday that he will reveal his college decision on April 15.
The Vaux senior point guard is between the Red Storm, Temple, and UCLA. He is averaging 25 points, 4.1 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game this season for the Cougars. Jordan is a five-star recruit according to ESPN and the nation's top uncommitted guard. ESPN ranks him as the No. 22 player in the Class of 2013.
Jordan will lead Vaux into Tuesday night's PIAA Class A semifinal against Math, Civics and Sciences at 6 p.m. at Ben Franklin High. The teams have split their meetings this season. Vaux is slated to close at the end of the school year.
The 6-foot-3 Jordan grew up on Gratz Street, just west of Temple's North Philadelphia campus, and now lives a bit further west in Brewerytown. He visited UCLA last September and St. John's in December.
