Strath Haven scored 21 unanswered points in the second half Friday night to beat visiting Conestoga, 21-14, in a Central League football game.
After trailing 14-0 at halftime, Kevin Mohollen completed a 10-yard touchdown to Kevin Sherry to put Strath Haven on the board in board in the third quarter and close within seven.
The Panthers tied the game when Anthony Myers ran for a 6-yard touchdown late in the third quarter.
Tevon Howie exploded for a 24-yard touchdown to give the Panthers’ their first lead with 1 minute, 45 seconds left in the game.
Conestoga had an opportunity to tie the game, but the Strath Haven defense stayed strong, forcing a turnover on downs with 20 seconds remaining to hold on for the comeback win.
Strath Haven improved its record to 4-3 and 4-2 in the Central League.
The Pioneers dropped to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the league.
Before falling off in the second half, the Pioneers jumped ahead with a pair of scores in the first half.
Martin Dorsey caught a 9-yard touchdown from Joe Viviano to open the scoring in the first quarter.
Nick Prestipino followed in the second quarter when he pounded home a 2-yard score to give Conestoga a 14-point lead at half.
