Imhotep Charter’s Deandre Scott announced on his Twitter page Monday night that he orally committed to Arizona State University.
Scott, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior defensive back, has helped Imhotep to an 11-1 record this season and the District 12 Class AA title. Scott had previously received offers from Florida, Michigan State, Arizona, Boston College, Miami, and Penn State, among others.
In making his announcement, Scott indicated that he was eager to play at Arizona State with wide receiver Jaelen Strong, a West Catholic graduate and Philadelphia native. Strong was recently the subject of an Inquirer profile.
