Phillies junior RBI team headed to playoffs

The Philadelphia Phillies junior RBI team finished 3-0 in pool play by winning two games at the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities World Series in Shelby, N.C.

In a six-inning affair that featured 16 runs, eight hits, and 19 walks, Philadelphia defeated Jersey City, 10-6. First baseman Jack Christmas (Masterman) went 2 for 3 and knocked in two runs for Philadelphia, which benefited from 11 walks.

The Phillies then topped Atlanta, 5-3, and will face Houston at 8 a.m. Saturday in the opening playoff round of the Series.
