Pa. Boys' Soccer: LaSalle opens with win over Central

Matt Lucas scored twice as La Salle, the defending Catholic League champions, opened its season on Friday morning with 6-0 non-league win over visiting Central. A junior forward, Lucas also added three assists. Anthony D'Angelo posted the shutout with three assists. In other nonleague action, Hunter Dyson netted three goals in his varsity debut as Marple Newtown rolled at Chichester, 8-0. The freshman midfielder added one assist and was aided by freshman George Lambritsios's pair of goals. Josh Gotlib needed zero saves for the shutout. Charlie Rushing finished a cross with 3 minutes left in regulation and Pennsbury pulled out a 1-0 win at Strath Haven. Spencer McCullough recorded nine saves for the Falcons and Dave Ruffini posted six for Strath Haven. Hunter Mack scored 30 seconds into the second half as Haverford High rallied for a 3-1 win over visiting Devon Prep. The Fords scored three times in the half, two by Mack. Senior captain Bobby Kane added one assist and Ryan Brown scored the team's second goal.
