A career that has spanned 38 years, all with the same school, reached a milestone on Thursday afternoon as St. Hubert girls' soccer coach Mick McGroarty recorded his 400th career win.
The Bambies eased past Bishop McDevitt, 7-2, as Kerri Mattock and Cassidy Rajkowski scored twice each.
"We had to get it over with," McGroarty said of the milestone. "It was starting to weigh on everyone's mind, except mine."
McGroarty helped formulate Catholic League girls' soccer, which at the time consisted of Hubert, Little Flower, Cardinal O'Hara, Nazareth Academy, Hallahan, and Archbishop Prendergast. He has won nine league titles with the Bambies, most recently in 2002.
